isn't it ironic.... don'tcha think?

i mark on the calendar when it rains, because it's not often, and the last time i marked it, the date was february 3. after talking with a friend, we think it rained sometime in march too, but i forgot to write it down. so it has been at least 4 months since we have had any water fall from the sky.
we have had a very humid week. it was up to 40% yesterday, which is outrageously high for here. and since last thursday, there has been some nice puffy thunderhead clouds off in the distance, but of course they don't come here.
so i decided to hose off the patio yesterday. it was super dirty from the boys playing and because i'm building a patio. and our bbq's were super dirty. i spent over an hour scrubbing the bbq's, sweeping, hosing, spraying, and organizing. the bbq's were nice and shiny, and the patio was free from dirt, and i was happy. my good friend Lari stopped by while i was cleaning, and we were chatting how it hasn't rained in forever, and how nice it would be if we just got a little downpour to wash everything off. things get a coating of dirt around here. but she and i agreed that it was unlikely that we would get any rain, because we just don't.
BUT OF COURSE at about 10:15 last night, the thunder started. then around 11, the rain started. and IT POURED! at least for a half an hour. it was AWESOME!!!!
so it's already marked on the calendar that it rained, and i need to clean again, because everything is covered in spots. and the patio is filthy again.
but at least we got some rain.

I swear, it always happens like that...after you scrub your deck or get your car washed. And it always happens at night too, so we don't even get to enjoy it!

40% humidity is really high! It's usually so dry.

This is why we never wash our cars. We have had our Toyota for 6 years and I don't think we have washed it 6 times. It just gets dirty again.
