pet peeves

so i think we all have some. bad drivers, people on their cell phones while at a restaurant and while driving, aaron putting a wet towel in the dirty clothes, people saying they will do something and they totally don't, but a big one of mine is this:
i went to a store the other day and got some new bras (finally!), and i went to check out, and there was a girl about 21 or 22 that was at the counter. i paid with my debit card, and she said "can you enter your pin, HUN." ok, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? why do young people say HUN??? then she called me it again. that is seriously one of the most annoying things to me, especially when you are younger than me. if you are an older grandma, that's just fine, but someone under 60 should not be saying "hun". maybe she thought i was younger than her (people think i'm 20 all the time), BUT STILL!!!!
this has happened to me before, and i always come home super annoyed. aaron thinks it's pretty funny, but i don't think anyone has ever done it to him.
i know it's really lame, but i just had to share.

I don't like to be called hun...it bugs me for some reason. I always feel like it's condescending, even if it's not meant that way.

I know what you mean. One of Danny's pet peeves is when he is on the phone with a customer service rep for some company and they call him "Ma'am". He gets really annoyed by that and will clearly state that he is a guy. It happens a lot. I just tell him that people are dumb to think he sounds like a woman on the phone. Poor guy! I'd be mad if someone called me "Sir"! :o)

I couldn't agree more. It's happned more than once to me and it always makes me stop and think they shouldn't be saying that! And they were all younger than me. Matter of fact, just happened the other day. And another is young guys checking me out at the counter and calling me "Mam" HELLO!?!?!?!?!
